If Obama accomplishes what he said to "Fundamentally Change America" how long before pro-sports are history?
I don't know of any socialist/ or communist countries that can afford to have professional Sports like Football , baseball and basketball. They can't get paid enough to want to play , football players have a much shorter lifespan from wear and tear on their bodies- who would want to play football for 44k a year, thats the salary far left lib/ progressives want everyone to make.If Obama accomplishes what he said to %26quot;Fundamentally Change America%26quot; how long before pro-sports are history?I remember during a past Olympics that a world class Cuban volleyball player couldnt play %26quot;professionally%26quot; around the world and make a big salary. The comment the player made was, that he couldnt even afford to buy his mother a pair of eye glasses. Some healthcare plan eh? Some kinda opportunity to better yourself eh?If Obama accomplishes what he said to %26quot;Fundamentally Change America%26quot; how long before pro-sports are history? It wont be long before Obama has his hands in the control of Pro-Sports.If Obama accomplishes what he said to %26quot;Fundamentally Change America%26quot; how long before pro-sports are history?I truly wish people actually educate themselves to what socialism and communism really are, rather then taking the words of a pundit to heart. If Obama accomplishes what he said to %26quot;Fundamentally Change America%26quot; how long before pro-sports are history? If he succeeds, the cons won't even be able to pay you to troll anymore! If Obama accomplishes what he said to %26quot;Fundamentally Change America%26quot; how long before pro-sports are history?I agree, we should only have people in it for the money, like doctors, good point. If Obama accomplishes what he said to %26quot;Fundamentally Change America%26quot; how long before pro-sports are history? What I find ironic about the criticism of liberals in your question is in the perfect world of the 1950's that the Conservatives want to return us to , professional athletes were working class heroes that had to have regular jobs in the off season in order to make ends meet

nations whose citizens are not engrossed in international sports industries are better off for it, consider the waste of maintaining sports palaces, and all the related resource-sucking industries
'professionals' by the hundreds of thousands, not even discussing managers and players yet
nations on the brink of breaking relations over the call of referees or player mistakes, players worshiped as deities , players bought and sold, payoffs and betting, corruption of every stripe
when I become emperor, I will give all sports teams to north korea or iran, they will be ruined

Keith Ellison - Is America Really Changing?
Does anyone else find it refreshing that this man's religion (muslim) was more important to the media and the public than the fact that he was also the first Black American elected to the House from Minnesota? This fact was hardly mentioned at all, and the focus has been on his religion and which book he was going to swear upon.
Keith Maurice Ellison (born August 4, 1963) is an American lawyer and politician who became the first Muslim[1][2] to be elected to the United States Congress when he won the vacant seat for Minnesota's 5th congressional district in the House of Representatives, one of eight congressional districts in Minnesota. He is also the first African American elected to the House from Minnesota.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keith_EllisKeith Ellison - Is America Really Changing?I did find it interesting that most of the articles about him focused on what book he was going to use. Even though that shows our religious intolerance, in a backwards way it is a step forward that no one focused on his race.
What I really, really, love though is that they found Jefferson's copy of the Quran for him to use at the ceremony. I'm hoping that will send a message to all the people who state that this country was founded only on Christian values, as if our forefathers were that narrowminded. One of the fathers of our country owned a Quran! Tee hee hee. :dance of joy:Keith Ellison - Is America Really Changing?Jefferson owned a Koran/Quran because he was STUDYING it to use it as a resource against ISLAMIC ENEMIES.
He didn't own it because he was religiously tolerant.
That article shows how ignorant the man who wrote it is. The scary thing is there are more people like him.Keith Ellison - Is America Really Changing?I think we'll look back upon the furor in ten or twenty years and see it the same way we do Governor Wallace's %26quot;standing in the schoolhouse door%26quot; of the University of Alabama in 1963.
There never should have been any furor, not in a country that truly cherishes religious freedom and whose constitution forbids religious tests for its officials. This was simply a case of an American, born in America, duly elected by Americans, taking the same oath as all the other newly elected members of the House of Representatives.
But you're right that it says something that little attention was paid to his being the first African-American elected to the House from Minnesota.

Keith Ellison - Is America Really Changing? Not sure if I would call it refreshing. I believe all people should be able to hold office regardless of race or religion. I thought it was great he was elected for both reasons. How can you and me as citizens change the economic problem in America?
We are citizens, so how can we change the economy for our future?
I don't want to live in stuck up third world country if America take a dive....trust me I would move to south America and enjoy nice weather before I stayed here in America as a third world.
So what can we do as just people of America to change this place and make it better for us?How can you and me as citizens change the economic problem in America?America became great based on the hard work and ingenuity of our people. We are falling increasingly rapidly as a result of our feeling of entitlement. More and more we rely on our government to take care of us. Look no further than what is happening today in Washington as an example of this. We need to take back control of our government from these out of touch career politicians. We don't need them to take care of us. That is our job as individuals to take care of ourselves and one another. Generations have now grown up on welfare and have no intention or idea to live without it, despite their complete ability to do so if they tried. I understand the need in some cases for government assistance, for the sick or elderly, or other special cases. Now, the all encompassing entitlement program is growing at an exponential rate. If we don't put a stop to it soon, our entire government will collapse much like it did in the former Soviet Union. How can you and me as citizens change the economic problem in America? You would insist on having the freedom to make your own economic decisions -- not have Washington make them for you.How can you and me as citizens change the economic problem in America?Part of the 'economic problems' of the USA are not simply economic, but have to do with the perception of people of WHAT makes a nation a GREAT nation, and what makes a third world country one.
First of all I do believe the prosperity the USA enjoyed these two and a half centuries were - most of all - given to it. Jesus said to Pilate %26quot;you would have no authority over me unless it was given to you%26quot;. The same principle applies here: prosperity was a given to the USA. At the same time, the people had a belief in God. Today, He is being ousted from the schools and people are ashamed to be called %26quot;believers%26quot;; He has left them be on their own. The USA is falling down, fast.
Now, if you don't believe, you are left with the reasons people with some knowledge say about that: corruption, waste, lack of economical wisdom, personal interests, war efforts, etc...
btw and for your information these same characteristics were prophesied almost two thousand years ago by a Man called Peter, a fisherman with no knowledge of scion-economic psychology...Weird, eh?
Hope this helped.make a comforter how do i do it multiple tables

Why is a vote for Obama a vote that will "change" America or "the world"?
I thought those of you who are voting for Obama are voting fro him because is is the better candidate not because of his heritage. A vote for McCain/Palin is a vote to continue the ruination of this country and people. This was never more evident when McCain is giving the shuck and jive that he economy is strong. The project isn't due for months but I need a topic that is Americans and everybody knows about it. I'm not allowed to do bands or sports. Please no %26quot;idk what to tell you%26quot; or %26quot;think of it yourself.%26quot; Thanks!I have a school project to do, and I need a topic that changed America. Suggestions? The struggle for Civil Rights. You can trace it from President Truman's decision to racially integrate the US Army, then go to %26quot;Brown vs. The Board of Education%26quot; Supreme Court decision.
Two major recommendations. Narrow it down as much as you can, such as %26quot;How the Civil Rights Struggle Affected Real Estate and Population Distribution in Chicago During the 1960's.%26quot;
Or %26quot;Freedom Summer: How a Workshop at Miami University [Ohio] Affected the Course of the Civil Rights Struggle in Mississippi.%26quot;
And #2. Start now. Make yourself a chart that will break down the phases and give yourself intermediate checkpoints and deadlines. Stay with that schedule.
Work as closely as you can to original sources..
That's my 2 points. Write if you need more help.I have a school project to do, and I need a topic that changed America. Suggestions? Thanks guys, I did 9/11 :)
The creation of the internet?
The use of social networking sites?
Cell phones?I have a school project to do, and I need a topic that changed America. Suggestions? Here are several topics to consider:
1.) The Louisiana Purchase:
Thomas Jefferson had campaigned for the Presidency under a program of limiting federal power at a time when France unexpectedly offered to sell the entire Louisiana Territory which would double the nation's size with a stroke of a pen. His decision showed both a capacity for compartmentalizing his beliefs and actions and the importance he placed on national expansion. Jefferson’s decision to purchase the Louisiana Territory was a decisive step in the nation’s expansion and set the stage for the acquisition of the Southwest and the Oregon Country.
2.) The Civil War (1861: Year of Decision):
Early in 1861 Robert E. Lee, a career military officer, turned down an offer to head the U.S. Army. He did so in spite of being opposed to secession and ambivalent over slavery. Lee was not willing to take up arms against his fellow Virginians, and he believed that the United States did not have the constitutional power to impose its will on states. Lee instead became the leading Confederate general of the war and one of the most respected tacticians in the history of warfare. Lee was of course not alone in his decision. Thousands of people had to decide which side to take during the war—or whether to fight at all. In far-away Oregon, for example, the Civil War splintered the powerful Democratic Party. The Civil War settled two great issues that had been left unsettled at the Constitutional Convention two generations before: the extent of states’ rights and the future of slavery. But these were also questions for individuals, questions that proved anguishing for many. People of good faith—leaders and ordinary citizens—still grapple with conflicting loyalties and principles.

3.) School Integration and The Little Rock School Crisis:
A welter of landmark legal cases, dramatic legislative actions, and physical confrontations have defined the history of race relations in the United States. One of the most important, but least appreciated decisions of the twentieth century concerning race was the one made by President Dwight D. Eisenhower to insert the federal government into the racial politics of Little Rock, Arkansas in 1958. The Supreme Court, in its magisterial 1954 majority opinion in Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka, had reversed the doctrine of “separate but equal,” the heart of its 1896 decision in Plessy v. Ferguson, ensuring segregation for 58 years. But Brown was not a guarantee of swift change. When nine black students attempted to integrate Little Rock’s Central High School in the face of violent opposition by many whites and defiance from Governor Orval Faubus, the President, a decent man who like most whites was indifferent to the plight of blacks, first reluctantly, then increasingly firmly, acted. By sending in the 82nd Airborne and federalizing the Arkansas National Guard, Eisenhower framed the difficulty of enforcing the fundamental civil rights of an oppressed minority, even in the face of a Supreme Court opinion. The crisis of Central High School stretches back in history to the Plessy case and forward through the bussing crisis of the 1960s and ‘70s and onward to recent conflicts over school desegregation in Louisville and Seattle.

4.) Building and Dropping the Atomic Bomb:
In the history of technology, no decision has been comparable in consequences to the United States’ choice to build and eventually drop the Atomic Bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. As some historians have noted, there was only one decision involved in the eventual use of the weapon, because the decision to build the bomb was, in essence, the decision to drop it. A new technology is hardly ever shelved before use, even though there was speculation that exploding the A-Bomb might set off a chain reaction that would burn up the atmosphere of the entire world. Nevertheless, there were two key decision makers in this story: President Franklin Roosevelt, who had to be convinced by several of the world’s most prestigious nuclear physicists, including Albert Einstein, to undertake a nuclear development project through the Manhattan Project, and his successor, Harry S. Truman, who knew nothing of the existence of this terrible weapon until he took office, just a few months before he deployed it.

5.) The Great Depression- Rebuilding America:
One of the great accomplishments of the federal government during the 1930s was to jump-start the full incorporation of the South and West into the national economy. Long treated as economic colonies of the Northeast, the South and West were areas with pockets of extreme poverty, boom-bust economies, and an inadequate industrial base. The public works programs of the 1930s helped these regions move toward economic maturity and laid the groundwork for the postwar rise of the Sunbelt. The Pacific Northwest was one of the focal points for the remaking of the American economy. The great Columbia River dams, irrigation projects, and rural electrification transformed the rural economy, and Columbia River hydropower facilitated the industrial boom of World War II.

6.) Harlem Renaissance:
Harlem Renaissance, an African American cultural movement of the 1920s and early 1930s that was centered in the Harlem neighborhood of New York City. Variously known as the New ***** movement, the New ***** Renaissance, and the ***** Renaissance, the movement emerged toward the end of World War I in 1918, blossomed in the mid- to late 1920s, and then faded in the mid-1930s. The Harlem Renaissance marked the first time that mainstream publishers and critics took African American literature seriously and that African American literature and arts attracted significant attention from the nation at large. Although it was primarily a literary movement, it was closely related to developments in African American music, theater, art, and politics.
Two major recommendations. Narrow it down as much as you can, such as %26quot;How the Civil Rights Struggle Affected Real Estate and Population Distribution in Chicago During the 1960's.%26quot;
Or %26quot;Freedom Summer: How a Workshop at Miami University [Ohio] Affected the Course of the Civil Rights Struggle in Mississippi.%26quot;
And #2. Start now. Make yourself a chart that will break down the phases and give yourself intermediate checkpoints and deadlines. Stay with that schedule.
Work as closely as you can to original sources..

I have a school project to do, and I need a topic that changed America. Suggestions?how about 9/11I have a school project to do, and I need a topic that changed America. Suggestions?topic that changed america would be the emancipation proclamation or the civil rights movement, or even a modern one would be the change in america due to immigration increasing, i.e. increasing our diversityI have a school project to do, and I need a topic that changed America. Suggestions? The advancement of technology?

Why is everyone trying to change america instead of trying to improve the country they came here from?
this is for all imegrants. and i am not saying this as an attack but i am looking for intellegent logical answers. Why is everyone trying to change america instead of trying to improve the country they came here from? That's a great question. I don't know but my guess is maybe they know they have a better chance of changing America than the country they came from. Most immigrants leave their country for economic, religious, or safety reasons. Why is everyone trying to change america instead of trying to improve the country they came here from? They are improving their countries. They work abroad, they earn some money, sometimes they send part of this money to their home countries, and if after that they don't find the kind of life they want, they go bakc to their countries with a small capital that help them start some kind of bussines. Why is everyone trying to change america instead of trying to improve the country they came here from? Some of these countries haven't changed in a long, long time. Also, their countries are too corrupt to change easily. Why is everyone trying to change america instead of trying to improve the country they came here from?I'm not an immigrant from middle/south America, but I do know that the majority of countries experience incredibly high levels of corruption. The governments are so backwards that even if there were a few %26quot;good souls%26quot; they'd be overridden by the selfish tyrants.
The immigrants to the U.S don't really have any hope to improve their homeland's system as the system is rotted from the inside out - it's not just the politicians, it's the police, the judicial system...this means there is no infrastructure w/ which to work. The immigrants in the U.S who DO work hard would most likely work just as hard back in their homeland if there were opportunities. This situation has perpetuated itself over the years to create a region of economically depressed people w/ skills but little education to actively change this situation.
My family immigrated here LEGALLY in the 50's for job opportunities b/c Europe was in such a state of devestation - but Europe went on to become strong again b/c there was a proper infrastructure and more educated people...my family started small businesses in Germany which became quite successful. In corrupt countries it's far harder to start a successful business (in addition to the fact that there are less people with money to spend on things like going out for dinner or installing swimming pools).
Hope this helped. Why is everyone trying to change america instead of trying to improve the country they came here from?Thank you for asking this question.. I applaud you .. and i agree..Why is everyone trying to change america instead of trying to improve the country they came here from?First of all, when this country was founded - it was to escape the oppression of their %26quot;home%26quot; country.
These people come from countries that take everything from you, force you to kill your infant daughter because they want you to have a son, do not allow you ANY individuality whatsoever - be it religion, freedom to speak your mind and especially sexuality.
Except for Native Americans, we are ALL immigrants. Only the Native Americans have the right to protest. It was THEIR land that was stolen from them. THEY were the ones forced onto reservations, (a nice way of our government to say concentration camp), and the resulting poverty that ensued.
To finally answer your question - because THEY CAN'T change or improve the country they came from.
Incidentally, my forebears were immigrants escaping the tyranny of dictatorship in Chile at the time. I am lucky to have been born in this country and be one of it's many diverse citizens. Why is everyone trying to change america instead of trying to improve the country they came here from?I am not improving the country where I was born because I do not know enough about it to change it. I am 22 years old and have been in the US 18 years. I live in the US with my family, I do not care if Mexico changes or not.Why is everyone trying to change america instead of trying to improve the country they came here from? Some people, Damun for example, are so ignorant, it amazes me they are able to make it through every day life without wandering into traffic, or something equally stupid. I am Native American by virtue of the fact that I was born here. The American Indians LOST this land to European settlers, so they should be happy they didn't get completely wiped out. Same with the Mexican-American war, they lost the land fair and square. If someone wants to take this land, they are welcome to try, and if successful, it will be theirs.....Why is everyone trying to change america instead of trying to improve the country they came here from? This is because America is a democratic capitalism. This syetem is designed to be changed by its people. It is designed to be moved by the mass to reach the equilibrium that benefit the most people. This makes America great for Americans, as well as all foreigners. It is because America's society and economy can change which make America still great, but we r seeing a trend towards protectionism due to increased importance of global trades. This is a worrying trend for America. Why is everyone trying to change america instead of trying to improve the country they came here from? The thing that is different between the mexicans and the immigrants from long ago is that the mexicans are wider spread and are coming at a time when America has basically created its steady culture. They wave their Mexican flag and to me it is like spitting in my face. If you love that so much, go back where it came from.myspace pages asian hair

How is life in America changes during and after the cold war?
It got colder then warmer. How is life in America changes during and after the cold war? From 1990-Sept. 2001 the U.S. citizenry had no major enemy to hate. How is life in America changes during and after the cold war?We were more concerned with the Iran Contra Affair, the NSC staffer Marine Lt. Is Hussein Obama the beginning of the end for America?
Him and his followers want nothing more than to change America into a socialist utopia where no one has to deal with consequence of poor decisions...Is Hussein Obama the beginning of the end for America?Yes it is if the American people roll over and die, but there are too many of us that have payed too high a price to allow the likes of 0bama, Pelosi and Reid to destroy our country. Some have mentioned a %26quot;Second Civil War%26quot;, and I'm one of those that believes that there will be a %26quot;Second Civil War%26quot;, but I believe its going to be a 'voting revolution' in which the majority of the Liberals now in the congress will be voted out of office. And I am one of those that would like to believe that the American People are smart enough to know that from now on they cannot cast their vote because of skin color, or party affiliation but only by those that will vote in congress for the betterment of America. After the actions of some of the Democrats in Congress yesterday, its time to clean house, we can not allow our country to be destroyed from within as 0bama, Pelosi and Reid would like to do.Is Hussein Obama the beginning of the end for America?YESIs Hussein Obama the beginning of the end for America?its the end for the gop party

Yeah know we have all these media people out here covering everything and uncovering all this stuff about whoever is important at the time. ALOT of stuff was revealed about Obama during the time he was %26quot;running%26quot; for the presidency. CHARACTER issues for one, character, yeah know what kind of a person someone is........KIND OF FRIGGIN IMPORTANT WOULDN'T YOU THINK? Apparently not too much anymore in this country. Friggin shame too.
For a long long time now and I will tell you this, I am not political at all, I hate politics. But back in the day when Russia was possibly a nuclear threat and all this talk about the world had enough atomic bombs to blow up the whole planet, I really never worried about this. Well I never have really worried about someone blowing the U.S. off the planet anyway. No, but I'll tell you what I've always believed about my country and that is that we will destroy it from within, we the people will mess this country up to the point of disrepair. I totally believe that's how we are going to be destroyed, by the people who live here! And if you were to really think about it I think you would probably agree too, cause it's happening, its been happening.
And what do you do to stop it if the %26quot;good%26quot; people in this country, who truly care about this country and what it stands for don't stand up to become president, but instead let these loosers who act and say things to make %26quot;some%26quot; but enough people to believe in them put them in office instead.

Are white americans really becoming the minority in America?
Ok, i don't know if this has been asked but there is this article that talks about how whites are becoming less in numbers due to the increase in immigration(latinos, asians), so how do you guys feel about the way America is changing? How do you feel about America's future? Tell it like it is people don't hold back! Are white americans really becoming the minority in America? This is going to have a profound effect upon the culture and well-being of this country. Unfortunately, the values and principles that made America a great place to live seem to be more prevalent in the white community than others. I do not see how this can possibly be view as a positive thing. Minorities who are cheering this on are no better than nazis in Europe who were happy to see jews and their %26quot;oppressive jewish culture%26quot; disappear. Are white americans really becoming the minority in America?AlmostAre white americans really becoming the minority in America?White people are having fewer kids and immigrants are having more kids. Whites probably will become a minority in America and I could really care less. Are white americans really becoming the minority in America? No one cares.
Maybe you should stop caring about labels like.
White,immigrant,minority,majority.
And live your life.
Your mentality only makes the world a worse place for everybody. Are white americans really becoming the minority in America? To me, they'll always be the majority because they are the majority in politics and stuff. They have most of the power. Are white americans really becoming the minority in America? It' so tragic, but yes.Are white americans really becoming the minority in America?IDK, but most white supremist groups are scared to death of this. It's because they expect to be screwed over the way they've screwed over everyone else. Are white americans really becoming the minority in America?yeah
infertility
choosing not to have children
race-mixing
i dont know why white women are having such a hard time reproducing naturally. a bw can be 40 and have a perfectly natural and healthy conception
dr logic chats bso much ****. black people are the most diverse in looks you idiot. piss coloured hair doesnt signal diversity. do you jnow how meaningless pale skin is? lolAre white americans really becoming the minority in America?where i live and the surrounding area in mass they are already the minority and the little bit of white ppl that are left are having mixed kids its called assimilation. who cares that means we will be better looking if you think about it.Are white americans really becoming the minority in America?that's what they say
i heard they were already the minority of the worldAre white americans really becoming the minority in America?Hopefully.
The sooner I become %26quot;exotic%26quot; and get to bang more women, the better. Are white americans really becoming the minority in America?I am white and could careless. Multiculturalism is the foundation of America. It does not matter which race or ethnicity is dominant in the population, so long as the Constitution is upheld and the ideological tenets of this country continue. Race and ethnicity have nothing to do with that. Freedom, democracy, due process of law, and the free market economy are not exclusive or dependent on white people. Are white americans really becoming the minority in America?Honestly i wish that no more Somalian people would come over here simply because i don't think they really like americans only america and the opportunities that it brings..but they act very arrogant and rude toward american women in my experiences. One more thing that concerns me are that the illegals could be spreading venereal diseases and they have no substantial verification of who they are.
Maybe you should stop caring about labels like.

Do you think that America will change the law of not spanking your kids for the sake of the country?
We are not allowed to spank our children anymore, this country is getting more and more out of hand. Children are doing what they want to now and talking back to their parents and being disrespectful to society and authority. This is evident especially after the 1990's. If we continue to have this crazy rule, our childrent are going to be rebellious and aren't going to do the right thing anymore. %26quot;Spare the rod and spoil the child.%26quot; Is this what our country really wanted?Do you think that America will change the law of not spanking your kids for the sake of the country?Governments across the world need to stay out of it. Parents must be free to decide what is best for their children. Spanking is not violence, as violence is the unjustified use of force, and spanking is justified when a child misbehaves.Do you think that America will change the law of not spanking your kids for the sake of the country?only lazy parents need to spank their kids, the smart ones can get them in line with just a few words and some of them with just a look.
but no spanking will never be illegal, its a cultural tradition.

Its against the law to hit them in the face or leave marks when spanking.
I bet your a kid asking this question.Do you think that America will change the law of not spanking your kids for the sake of the country?%26quot;We are not allowed to spank our children anymore.%26quot;

What are some ways that the Beatles changed America?
The beatles changed America in many ways. Do you know any specifics? What are some ways that the Beatles changed America?Well definately one is the way they changed music for teens when they came out %26amp; it progressed from poppy to rock then political %26amp; so basically I think some of it was that they accepted change therefore Americans could relate w/ them.

You know it was really Forrest Gump that inspired John Lennon to write 'Imagine'. %26quot;In China they don't go ta chach.%26quot;-Forrest
I'm not a *huige* Beatles fan myself but I think I'm definately okay if I NEVER hear that song again. What are some ways that the Beatles changed America?I think you are giving the Beatles too much credit. What are some ways that the Beatles changed America? As George Harrison said, they gave America a reason to go crazy. But seriously, the Beatles changed America's musical taste and many peoples' view on the war.

Do you feel racism is changing in America today .?
with all the mixed children being born in america today and mixed marriages being done at a higher rate than any other race, do you feel that racism is finally going to become something of the past.Do you feel racism is changing in America today .?I think that we're just finding new ways of defining what groups we belong to and which ones we're prejudiced against.
People of different races may bond together and get along if they share the same religious background or social values system, e.g. pro-rights vs. pro-abortion, pro-gay vs. anti-gay, global-warming-is-real vs. %26quot;global-warming-is-a-myth%26quot;, etc.
Ultimately I think the real lines for bigotry, the ones we'll never overcome in America or anywhere else, are the ones along religious grounds.Do you feel racism is changing in America today .?there arent that many mixed people
there are just more people across the board
what is happening is that different groups are being represented at the governmental levels. So that if someones civil rights are violated that group can be represented. People are grouping together in their own groups, But behind closed doors. People question, criticize, and demean people from other races and people that are from a different socio-economic status. You have to love people of different colors and sexual orientation until you get around your own kind of people than people start to talk about how great their race is and how bad the other races are.Do you feel racism is changing in America today .?People seem to confuse racism with stereotyping. There are different races. If I say something about a majority of a race, believe it or not, it is not racist, it is a stereotype. If I say Black people like fried chicken and watermelon, Asians can't drive, or White people can't dance or play basketball, I'm not being racist. As long as I don't think I am superior to another race, I am just being a jerk and stereotyping. I think there is a lot less actual racism and just a lot of stereotypes based on peoples races. You can go as far as saying I hate %26quot;insert race here%26quot; people. As long as you don't think you (or any race) is better than that race. I hate yorkshire terriers, but I don't think that any type of dog is superior to them, I just don't like them, always yapping and being annoying... but back on topic...
Racism is the prejudice that members of one race are intrinsically superior to members of other races.
I think that it is fading. There are still people out there that believe they are superior, and there always will, but right now I think most of the people you encounter under 50yrs old are just jerks that stereotype people, not racists.Do you feel racism is changing in America today .?many people are still raised believing in rascism..
i dont think it will change very fast
looking back at the past few wars too,,, that generation is still struck deeply by the things that have happened.
there is, however, a chance that it will get much much less since the newer generations are more open to different cultures and raises.Do you feel racism is changing in America today .?interracial marriages and biracial children can't and won't change race relations...especially not in the USA...
i do feel it's changing...snaaaaaaails pace....and if it does change for good, none of us will be around to see it..i do wish i could see what race relations will be like 100-200 years.....i think by then it will definitely be on the way to being completely healed....at least between black and white....but i have a feeling, something else will be there to take it's place....but at the same time, no, it's not changing. maybe it's just not as open, only because it can't be.....i grew up not even knowing racism existed. but were my eyes ever opened lol...so i think we sometimes don't see it because we don't want to....Do you feel racism is changing in America today .?unfortunately no. to be honest, ive seen more discrimination now than i ever have in the past. i guess it is changing though in that now it seems like far more whites are being discriminated against than beforeDo you feel racism is changing in America today .?No but hopefully real violent forms of racism like slavery and genocide will be a thing of the past.
Being racist is an innate trait for survival a study said. Human beings just feel threatened by people of different skin color .Do you feel racism is changing in America today .?The only vestage of institutionally sanctioned racism left in America is Affirmative Action, a system whereby Whites are denied equal opportunities in order to give preferance to lower qualifying minorities.Do you feel racism is changing in America today .?maybe way in the future. i am puerto rican and my fiances family has been taking it hard for 8 years now. we now have twin little girls and her father at least loves them...but me, thats another story still. oh well...Do you feel racism is changing in America today .?No. There will always be racism, however, the amount of this will greatly reduce for sure.Do you feel racism is changing in America today .?Racism will never be a thing of the past!
SOME people just don't like others who are different from them.
As a matter of fact, it is getting worse!Do you feel racism is changing in America today .?Bit by bit, racism is slowly becoming a moot point.
all too slowlyDo you feel racism is changing in America today .?No and I know some mixed people who hate black peopleDo you feel racism is changing in America today .?there isnt so much of it now.Do you feel racism is changing in America today .?no

STOP OUTSOURCING OUR AMERICAN JOBS TO CHINA

Getting pretty tired of the conservatives posting all their lame ideas , they have had control of all three branches of government for the better part of the last 7 years and their policies, and ideas have all failed miserably. Its time to put a fiscally responsible Democrat back in the white house.

And all of out there who still support them! Thanks with friends like you who needs enemies? This is the ONLY big change AMerica needs other than Hillary and Obamas ideas?Wow I think Ross Perot said something about that a decade or more ago... and he also mentioned the housing crunch, and a future war with Iraq... strange its almost as if it was possible to know this was coming... oh wait, we did, we just picked the good looking president over the one that would actually do something. You going to do that again? This is the ONLY big change AMerica needs other than Hillary and Obamas ideas?No... but in a way you are on to part of it. There is actually one thing we could do, that we have the money and ability to do, that would 1) put jobs back in America 2) put America in the driver's seat in world finance for the next 100 years 3) end the war in Iraq and 4) end terrorism in the US 5) solve the environment problems. Think of this.. the next pres does a mandate like Kennedy did with the moon program or they did in WW2 to get the nuclear bomb. Build a facility and put together a mini city of scientists and tell them.. don't you come out of there without a powerful engine that runs on hydrogen or some other ultra renewable fuel and a means to deliver it. Not some weak engine that you have to run under a plastic car, but something big and powerful and truly American. We then set up a whole new vehicle company 100% US based. Every nut every bolt and every tuft of seat stuffing made and assembled in the US. Change the laws to phase out the gas engine quickly and give people a huge tax break for turning in the old gas models. We build it and we keep the technology OURS. No patent sharing, no outsourcing. So we've now got jobs, we've got a money maker.. AND we are off of oil. Anything we need for plastic or whatever we can drill for on our own soil. We sell our cars./trucks/engines to Europe and whomever else will buy them, but we don't buy them from others. The middle East can't sell their oil and we (being so nice) say Osama... you wanted us out of your land, we're leaving. We leave them high and dry we pull out every scrap of material and assistance and we sit back. In a few years, they have no choice. They've got no money and no more excuses to bother us... so they either starve, go back to the stone age, or they start acting like human beings and we can be friends. The air is cleaner, our wallets are fatter.. and all because of ONE invention done right under a gov't mandate.mira hair oil band myspace

Getting pretty tired of the conservatives posting all their lame ideas , they have had control of all three branches of government for the better part of the last 7 years and their policies, and ideas have all failed miserably. Its time to put a fiscally responsible Democrat back in the white house.
What more proof do you need that Republicans only care about the top 10% of income earners in this country? This is the ONLY big change AMerica needs other than Hillary and Obamas ideas?Ron Paul 2008This is the ONLY big change AMerica needs other than Hillary and Obamas ideas?Wrong, we need to stop ALL gov give aways, get rid of the IRS, close and treat our southern boarder the same way as mexico treats thiers, and fight the war against islam with the same brutallity they use on our sons. This is the ONLY big change AMerica needs other than Hillary and Obamas ideas?China is getting scarier and scarier. This is the ONLY big change AMerica needs other than Hillary and Obamas ideas?ISN'T THIS MUCH MORE IMPORTANT ?????

And guess who lined his pocket with Chinese money? Both Bill and Hillary! Add in NAFTA and then what do you have? TWO thieves in sheeps clothing! Thanks Bill Thanks Hillary! The air is cleaner, our wallets are fatter.. and all because of ONE invention done right under a gov't mandate.

From 1900 - 1950, what were ten events which changed America economically and militarily?
Famous wars, famous movements, foot notes in history...that is to be more detailed. From 1900 - 1950, what were ten events which changed America economically and militarily?1) Spanish-American War: gave america possessions in the pacific, which meant trade and military bases
2) The movement of the majority of the population from farms to the cities: gave our rising industries a larger work force, increased incomes and income taxes
3) WWI: saw rise of airplane and tanks, gave us a military reputation, brought us out of isolationism
4) Sherman Anti-Trust Act: the basis for dismantling monopolies, increased competition in business, lowered prices
5) Automobiles: allowed people to live farther from their work, allowed trade goods to be shipped faster to to smaller and more rural areas
6) Tanks: changed the face of war, by WWII the main offensive weapon on the ground
7) Henry Ford: paid higher wages, so economy/taxes rise; made cars cheaper so more people could drive; formalized assembly line system of manufacturing
8) Airplane: change how wars were fought; became the primary weapon in WWII in the pacific...
9) The Stock Market Collapse/Great Depression: put country in dire economic straits until WWII; the starting point of larger government assistance to needy
10) WWII- we were the only industrial nation NOT to have our industries bombed, so we sold everything to everybody for the next 20 years...From 1900 - 1950, what were ten events which changed America economically and militarily?1, World War I, which forced the United States to assume a major position in international affairs, and was the beginning of active national government.
2. Depression and New Deal, in which the government assumed an active role in managing the national economy.
3.. Rise of the automobile, which reshaped the economy, spreading prosperity through the many subsidiary services it required, such as gas stations everywhere.
4. World War II, in which the United States became the truly preeminent world power militarily and economically.
5. The outbreak of the Cold War, in which the United States found itself moving to a perpetual war footing to prevent war.
6. The Rise of Ku Klux Klan, one of the darkest chapters in American history, the Klan was very powerful in the early 1920s until scandals finally disgraced its image.
7. Constitutionalization of the Bill of Rights. At the beginning of the century, the average citizen could not look to the bill of rights for any real relief from government. By 1950, substantial portions of the bill of rights were applied to state government, and the revolutions of civil rights and criminal rights law in the offing.
8. Airplanes: from the first 12 second flight at Kitty Hawk to the jet age, the revolution in flight fueled not only human excitement, but prompted thousands of related inventions and developments.
9. The development of vaccines and antibiotics. In 1919-20, an influenza epidemic wiped out a huge portion of the population. By 1950, scientists had developed large scale antibiotics, vaccines, and thousands of drugs that were making unimaginable headway against diseases.
10. The clash between science and traditional faith. This was embodied in the Scopes Trial in 1925, but it remains one of the defining struggles in American society at many levels. From 1900 - 1950, what were ten events which changed America economically and militarily?World war 2, which also brought the US out of the depression. The Airplane which the US held a great advantage in Air Power. The woman rights movement. Prohibition , the homestead act, the dust bowl of the 30's

Has the faceless corporation taken over America without a single vote or firing a shot?
The landscape of America has changed since WWII, and, is attributable, good, bad, or indifferent, by the major corporations. Now, some of you people will see this as a socialist question, which it isn't. Is this the %26quot;new world%26quot;, a sort of faceless appeasing giant of a corporation that has its power and span of control throughout the world with allegiance to no government, or, its people?Has the faceless corporation taken over America without a single vote or firing a shot?I agree with you. Corporations seem to have a back hand in running our government and even our wars. The middle class is disappearing, yet it is being presented to us as Communism if people want to take steps to regain ground for the middle class.
Leisure time is something that allows people the creativity to come up with new ideas and work better and yet it is disappearing as we struggle to make ends meet so that we can fill up the tank and feed our families.Has the faceless corporation taken over America without a single vote or firing a shot?Yes, but not just the USA the WORLD! We are living in the age on consumer hell!!Has the faceless corporation taken over America without a single vote or firing a shot? What difference does it make whether we are controlled by indifferent corporations or indifferent politicians?Has the faceless corporation taken over America without a single vote or firing a shot?YesHas the faceless corporation taken over America without a single vote or firing a shot? You are correct. That evil corporation is called the IRS.Has the faceless corporation taken over America without a single vote or firing a shot?It has a face, an elderly greeter at the door. Hint, hint.Has the faceless corporation taken over America without a single vote or firing a shot? The thing about a corporation is that it has a structure.
Although I agree that many corporations have far far too much influence in US life, I'm not going to call it one nameless single entity. That is, there are some CEOs and heads of shareholders that have way too much power ...
But they are individuals, with faces, that can be named.Has the faceless corporation taken over America without a single vote or firing a shot?LOL.....you do know that small businesses make up the majority of business in this nation right? right?Has the faceless corporation taken over America without a single vote or firing a shot?Blaming a corporation is a scapegoat... blaming the American people themselves is accurate.Has the faceless corporation taken over America without a single vote or firing a shot?Yes, globalization is what most of world calls neo-liberalism.
Neoliberalism's prerequisites for nations to garner acceptance and receive assistance are a form of international blackmail. Severe penalties exist for non-compliance. A nation may be branded a pariah for choosing something other than the neo-liberal model. Not being on the Unites States' “most favored nation status” is one form of retribution. Being under the imposition of a devastating worldwide economic embargo is another. And, human rights do not matter much. China, a communist nation with its many violations, has been granted most favored nation status. Cuba, also a communist country, with its internationally acknowledged gains in social, medical, and educational services for the people, has not. Cuba's refusal to acquiesce to the dictatorship of free market capital circulation is to – neoliberalism – a much bigger crime, than China's violation of people's human rights. China exports cheap consumer goods to the United States and the world. Cuba exports human capital, its doctors and teachers, and imports tourists. One contributes to the dictatorship of the free market. The other resists. The political system matters little when a nation embraces the neoliberal model. Neither do the conditions under which people live. Globalization, for example, has brought the world both colonialism and contributed heavily to slavery. Profit came at the expense of the indigenous and the slaves.Has the faceless corporation taken over America without a single vote or firing a shot?It has allegiance to the people.
They're called customers and investors.
I keep hearing about how much worse off we all are because all the mom and pop stores died with Norman Rockwell.
They were all a bunch of crooks with little local monopolies just as apt to sell us junk as any big company we see today.
I don't miss them.
I'll take Home Depot over that fat slob in the hardware store who wouldn't even get out of his chair if I didn't know exactly what I wanted.
I knew there was a Home Depot coming as soon as he hired two more people who roamed the aisles asking if I needed help.
Competition makes everyone better, large or small.Has the faceless corporation taken over America without a single vote or firing a shot? The corporation is created by government, so in a way it is like socialism, especially when the people who run corporations also run government, giving themselves subsidies, tax breaks, regulatory benefits that restrict competition, foreign policies that favor them over our national self interest.
This is where the Democrat party has failed miserably. They say they support the %26quot;little guy%26quot;, the people who work for corporations, yet the Democrat politicians are all in the pocket of big business.
I say the best way to reduce the power of the corporations is to reduce the power of government and let the free market operate like it should, with many businesses competing. End the income tax (except maybe the corporate tax, since corporations wouldn't exist without government) so that workers can keep the money they earn.
Our whole health care crisis was created by the income tax, health insurance is deductable for corporations.Has the faceless corporation taken over America without a single vote or firing a shot? You act as if corporations are some irresistible armed force that bends people to their will. Corporations are PUBLICLY OWNED businesses. That means YOU control them. If you don't like what a corporation is doing, don't buy their product. Or buy their stock and vote for change.
Quit your bitching and do something constructive. YOU have the power.
When did we become a nation of whining victims?Has the faceless corporation taken over America without a single vote or firing a shot? The federal reserve makes most corporations look like saints!Has the faceless corporation taken over America without a single vote or firing a shot?Yes, and I'm a Independent Conservative. Yet, in a world economy it is sometimes needed yet eventually it must be slowly dismantled.Has the faceless corporation taken over America without a single vote or firing a shot?Don't know. But at least corporations can be held accountable. If their product is harmful, we sue. Even if we are told the product is harmful by them and use it anyway, we sue. If the corporation is badly managed, they either fire those in charge or they go out of business. If we don't like their product, we shop elsewhere. If the stockholders don't like the returns, the big boys get fired. Everyone believes big CEO's have it made. When they run a good operation, they get rich, when they run a bad operation, they get fired but come away rich. But they do get fired. Then a new guy is put in that will hopefully meet both the consumers' and stockholders' expectations.
Politicians, by the very nature of the system, are virtually impossible to fire. Congressmen/women and especially Senators, are almost a collective. When things are bad, they can spread the blame enough to insulate themselves from the voters. Yet when it is time to play the party politic, these same politicians stand up in front of their own little group of supporters, stick their thumb into the pie, pull out a couple of fat plums and exclaim, %26quot;My! What a good boy I've been!%26quot;. Ted Kennedy is re-elected time and time again. His people love him. Yet he has a great deal of power and influence on decisions that affect all our lives. If he were to run for Senator based on a national vote, he would have been gone long ago.Has the faceless corporation taken over America without a single vote or firing a shot? There were shots fired.......
In Dallas TX.....
In 1963.Has the faceless corporation taken over America without a single vote or firing a shot?No the religious right has taken over the country because of the apathy of the populous.

What was america based on when it was founded?
I have to write a paper saying how my views of america have changed since i started the class. I believe that america has been too invasive in other countries business with all the wars that have been going on. I know that at the start of america someone said something about we will be an independant nation and we will stay out of other peoples business and sum other stuff. Can you tell me who said that; is it a law? and what law or other thing is itWhat was america based on when it was founded? In the beginning the U.S. had a foreign policy of non-interference and friendship with other countries (excepting England, I suppose).
There is no formal ruling on foreign policy in the Constitution, as far as I know.
By the Korean War, the United States was entrenched in a superiority complex and thought it was the ruler of the world and could do anything it pleased, while condemning other countries for doing the same atrocities.
The World Trade Center strike (I hate the polular term) was inevitable. Arrogance and unethical behavior are just begging for retaliation. No %26quot;empire%26quot; has ever lasted forever. Do Murricans think that God chose Yankeeland as the everlasting Kingdom of God?What was america based on when it was founded?Hello dear!
I suppose you mean the USA, because such federation was founded, not anyone as America!
Well, the ones who had no place in Europe moved to America. In order to protect themselves organized societies and eventuially, under British, French, Hispanic, etc., rules formed states (in a sense).
Then, time that they got powerful came and the pioneers and their descendents throw the British and other rulers away and got independance.
To survive internally (states had many criminals, illeterate, etc.) and externally (other states and countries were ready to attack, the States, known as USA were united!
The fathers of the USA wrote the Constitution for Liberty, personal freedom and rights.private myspace grey hair

Do you think America is going for chaos the next couple years?
I honestly think if we don't make drastic, immediate changes, America is not going to recover very well anytime soon....Do you think America is going for chaos the next couple years?well, i think this question should be applicable to the whole world. At present the whole world is a victim of terrorism. And if a natural disaster is to be discussed such as tornadoes, hurricanes, etc., it just comes out of the blue and we just can't do anything. Anyways, precaution is better is better than cure so, yeah i agree with you.Do you think America is going for chaos the next couple years?Worse than the last eight? Impossible!Do you think America is going for chaos the next couple years?I saw this on 9/11. We still haven't recovered physically at the attack site in NYC. And financially. The war is still very expensive.Do you think America is going for chaos the next couple years?I think we need to start saving money. If we do that and stop living above our means, we can get back on our feet.Do you think America is going for chaos the next couple years?Definitely. I do not think there is a miracle cure for it though. Just time. This isn't America's first or last economic or social downfall.Do you think America is going for chaos the next couple years? We thrive on chaos....
Party on, dude.Do you think America is going for chaos the next couple years?Obviously.Do you think America is going for chaos the next couple years?I am honestly putting a lot of faith into Obama and that he will be the person to fix this. If he enforces everything he's saying we should be fine. Now if McCain wins we all need to move far, far away. :)Do you think America is going for chaos the next couple years?eh. im hoping for anarchy.Do you think America is going for chaos the next couple years?yes

How did the case Roe v. Wade change America economically?
Im writing a research paper and the the thesis is how did this case change America economically, politically, and socially. I have researched sites and books, but i'm looking for someone to put it in their own words for me so I can understand it better. How did the case Roe v. Wade change America economically?Any court case that results in helping women control their own destiny, as Roe v. Wade did, would tend to help women be healthier, more self-supporting, and better able to support a family. This, in turn, resulted in more women entering the work force and improving their economic status. Roe v. Wade was certainly not the only factor in this, but a major one. Others were easily available and safe birth control, civil rights laws, and the influence of what is called the Women's Liberation Movement in changing attitudes about a whole host of women's issues. Girls today, who can look forward to a good education and a well-paying job, are sometimes unaware of how what happened in the 70's and 80's with women's status has paved the way for all women to live better, more satisfying lives. How did the case Roe v. Wade change America economically?By bringing abortions from the back alley to doctor's offices and clinics, money paid for abortions was taxed, increasing federal revenues. It also has held health care costs down, as abortion is safer than childbirth. Also, fewer women have to be treated for post-abortion care as it is safer when performed by a licensed physician than by a butcher. How did the case Roe v. Wade change America economically? In addition, an increase in legal abortions following the Roe v. Wade decision is correlated to a decrease in violent crime rates and property crime statistics during the years that would correspond to the adolescent years of aborted fetuses. How did the case Roe v. Wade change America economically?Women didn't have to risk their lives to have an abortion. Abortions are much cheaper than having a baby. Women (and men) didn't have to go broke to support a child they didn't want in the first place, which meant less people requesting welfare assistance.

Does anyone kno how slavery changed north america?
i have to have a 2 page paper on how slavery changed america and it is due tomorrow...any facts or any internet sites any thing would be helpful....Thank you.Does anyone kno how slavery changed north america?Yes, it's in your textbook.
Homework is called homework for a reason.Does anyone kno how slavery changed north america?the slave trade developed the cultivation of coffee, cotton and later sugar, esp. in the West Indies, which is technically Central America but you still put that in there
the slaves made up quite a large percentage of the colonial population, esp. in the southern states
slaves provided the labor for Southern growth of cotton and the dependence of the South on the (sad) slave system
it chaned N. America in that it later caused the Civil War...
stuff like that. google it.Does anyone kno how slavery changed north america?www.earlyamerica.com/review

This is especially sensitive to me and I would like to encourage you to really read the material you find online and write a good paper. The major change was economical. When the British found that they were unable to continue to use the Native Americans (as slaves) because they died from the diseases that were brought over and they were unable to deal with the heat of the sun. The English in their travels began to spy out other countries and noticed that the continent of Africa had black men and women who not only toiled in the sun, but moved with a certain passion in their work. As the blacks were lured to the ships, many by colorful cloth that was strewn on the ground and led directly into captivity, others came aboard and showed the Kings their firearms and made trade by exchanging these unusual goods for their own people. Cotton in America, in the south was plentiful, but there was no one to work those thousands of acres. Cotton in the south was King. The blacks were separated from their families, unable to continue their religious practice or language, heads of the families were often taken from their wives and children and the children were sold off. Whips and other forms of beatings were designed to keep the slaves intact while the white southern landowners became rich.
There is so much more to the story of how slavery changed America. Not only economically, but socially, politically, civilly.
Good luck.Does anyone kno how slavery changed north america?Tortured a bunch of people and got the US into a civil war.
Other than that I don't know but do remember that it was said they effects were not positive. Any benefit derived from their work was destroyed by the civil war. So it was a lose lose situation for everyone.Does anyone kno how slavery changed north america? In a nutshell, it indirectly created the poorest minority in the US, the African Americans. When they were %26quot;emancipated%26quot;, they were let out into society as %26quot;free%26quot; people, only they couldn't vote or better themselves economically. Though some blacks have managed to get out of this in this age of racial integration, many are still caught in the vicious cycle of economic standstill, which is largely responsible for today's ghettos.
