They removed the country from the gold standard.

They developed socialist style polices that protected the unemployed, the elderly and children.



Business were bought and sold for pennies on the dollar. Many companys failed but the ones that did not emerged stronger than before the depression.



The federal reserve also used the depression to expand their power.
