It's always in and out of recession, and it can send the whole world into a downfall. Imagine what would happen if the EU, the world's largest economy, and the US, the world's second largest economy, joined together, and then collapsed. The consequences would be devastating.
The reckless nature of Wall Street is too unpredictable for the sensible EU to consider. The Euro is for the European's and their free trade agreement, and all nations that wish to trade with it. The only change that could ever possibly happen to the greenback in the near future is possibly a currency merge with Canada and Mexico, but I doubt America would sign up for it.
