Do you think America is changing places with Russia?

We were a free country and Russia was socialist do you think we are changing places?Do you think America is changing places with Russia?Curious... How do you believe that we were ever free, that Russia is becoming so? America is a Capitalist Republic, using Democracy in a very loose form. A Socialistic system has its merits, but I don't believe we'll get there ... at least for some time. Too many Capitalists currently in control of too many powerful positions. America isn't free ... it has always been under one form of rule or another. If you truly think you're free ... try not paying your taxes or mortgage. I love my Country, but what %26quot;freedoms%26quot; we have come at a cost. Nothing is ever free.Do you think America is changing places with Russia? No.Do you think America is changing places with Russia?all countries are the same ! they elect a king/queen or government to look after the best interests of them and there people.

how they go about this is usually the same also .... invasion , war , empires , wealth .. ect..

you can date this right back through time and to today !!

The only thing that is different today is that the unity between the US and the UK and Europe means that most of the world is pulling in one direction on most global issues.

but this also creates a problem because the other half of the world either do not agree with the US/UK or feel threatened by the unity.... its going to create a huge defining power struggle and war ...

It may have already started but I feel the worst has yet to materialise.....nuclear armed pakistan ,india are struggling to not get involved with the rise of the jihad , holy war agianst the west.....

all will be revealed !Do you think America is changing places with Russia? The same technique that Russia used for introducing laws that were unfavorable with the common people has been used here in the US since the 1970's. It is called %26quot;gradualism%26quot;. The mass media is used to convince people that deaths or other tragedies can be prevented by passing a law to protect certain people. For example, car seats and infants. Statistics of babies dying in auto accidents convinced us that making people strap infants in infant car seats was a good thing. Then it became mandatory for young children to be fasten in seat belts, then older children, then everyone in the front seat of the vehicle. Now it is common for the police to do roadblocks and ticket drivers and passengers who don't have their seat belts fastened or they are wearing them %26quot;improperly.%26quot; Cities who are in need of revenue, such as mine, have used these roadblocks on a regular basis and have made quite a bit of money in the process. There are gradualism laws with cigarettes and other things too. Plus we are being taxed on one thing after another, even owning a pet requires a $15 annual tag here. The government is our Daddy and we are required to honor our Daddy at the expense of our freedoms.Do you think America is changing places with Russia?Uh....no. Russia is nothing like the USA.Do you think America is changing places with Russia? No, Russia will never be what America was and always will be. Russia oppresses it's people. In America we let people make their own choices fairly.Do you think America is changing places with Russia?Short answer: no.

Longer answer: no, but we're changing for the better. Hopefully those idiots in the government won't bust it.

Even longer answer: no, but we have the freedoms you don't have, for example, freedom of hate speech, freedom of speaking the bitter truth right into ones face, freedom of not taking crap from anyone. We don't take crap from anybody. Sure, our system has some flaws, but so does yours.

Generally speaking, America is more 'free' in the sense of Universal Declaration of Human Rights, but we are more free in the sense of, well, common sense.

And the poster right above me, don't feed me with 'oppressed people' crap. I am Russian, I know what I'm talking about.
