Maybe not all the detainees was an actual terrorist when he was sent to Gitmo. After seven years of being imprisoned I'm sure more than a few have an axe to grind against America.

However due to political reasons within their home country they cannot be repatriated there. China in particular has not only been strongly adamant about not taking these people (who they view as political dissidents) back but also has threatened unspecified retaliation against any country who grants them asylum.

Well, here's an interesting story that broke today from a Bush administraion official. It turns out that %26quot;many%26quot; of the people in Guantanamo are innocent! They were simply caught up in sweeps and kept in prision even though the Bush administration knew they were guilty of nothing. Just because they lived in Afghanistan they %26quot;must know something%26quot;?
This is KIDNAPPING. Pure and simple.
