They have changed the US into a country easily manipulated by fear, they have made us into a country where many excuse the illegal acts of Bush in the name of keeping us safe.

Not in the manner with which they planned. What changed this country the most was the way in which it was handled after wards. Bush had this country in the palm of his hand, he had the highest approval ratings ever. And then, it began to fall apart with his ignoring the UN, inventing evidence, encouraging his administration team to stretch the truth, etc etc. culminating in the invasion of Iraq. How is it that Bush went from beloved President to one of the most divisive and despised? It has nothing to do with the liberal media, or politics. It has everything to do with his actions. You can wrap up a fish with a nice pretty bow, eventually it is going to stink. Bush can wrap himself up in the American flag all he wants and proclaim himself the great protector. It still does not change the fact that he is a fish.
