The health care, employment insurance, tax benefits for middle class families, a university education for everyone, senior citizen tax breaks, etc etc if you look just over the border that is exactly how we run it in our country. In our country tax breaks for the middle class is just good politics because they have a larger disposal income, are more college educated and therefor send their sons and daughters to college, also more of them have traditionally been in the national guard, The older citizens here get tax breaks for a similar reason in that they invest and have disposal income in IRA etc. University and or college degrees make for more job creation and larger income/tax sourcing.
I don't know about your country but here in the states this is normal and whether you are Sen.McCain or Sen.Obama it just makes sense to reach out to those citizens.

If one doesn't have a job that person is poor. Small businesses will be decimated. Huge corporations will be controlled by the government. Everyone that works will work for the government.
