Why should America bother changing its ways?

America is disliked throughout the world right now. But it seems to me that America gets critsized for everything it does no matter what. America also never seems to get credit for anything positive it does or no one seems to notice. For example North Korea is disarming and America played a big role in that. The progress are ally Columbia is making is very positive.http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/america… Now I was never a fan of George W. bush nor did I think the Iraq war was a good idea. But in the last two years I think the U.S. has started to try to work with the international community more than ever to get things done but still people continue to hate America as much as before. Their some Americans with a America vs. the world mentality and all the hate just seems to validate that mentality. To sum it all up if America was to change its foreign policy for the better would any notice or would they just continue hating America.Why should America bother changing its ways?Depends. The US does a lot of good in the world. A lot of bad as well.

Check the link out to see how many times it has gone to war since 1945. More than any other nation on the planet.Why should America bother changing its ways?I'll bet they still like getting American dollars. It is only socialist liberal countries and terrorists that hate America.

And I say %26quot;who cares%26quot; when you are on top you are always a target.Why should America bother changing its ways?It's a reasonable point you make, but it was Bush who said to the world %26quot;you're either with us or against us%26quot; and then proceeded to rip up all decent behaviour for the past 7 years. To expect the world simply to forget the appalling catalogue of violence he has unleashed because of minor foreign policy changes recently is not realistic.

I'm so appalled by the behaviour of the US government under Bush that I really want nothing more to do with America any more. Hopefully, US policy will change once Bush goes, but 7 years of disaster will take at least 7 years to undo.Why should America bother changing its ways?For one thing borrowing money from China on our children and grand childrens future is not very smart.Why should America bother changing its ways?I ask my dad that question many years ago as a young man, he said when you are on top everyone wants to take a shot at you son...it's still true today (even more so since the end of the cold war)Why should America bother changing its ways?Over the past 20 years having traveled with the military and seen many foreign lands and met many of the worlds citizens I can't tell you that Contrary to popular belief America has been despised on a global level for many years. The difference now is that we have something to point to as the cause of that hatred.Why should America bother changing its ways?what do you mean by %26quot;for the better%26quot;. the world is getting a pretty good deal already. if change is needed, then maybe we need to stop being the first to offer help when disaster strikes, maybe we should stop giving loans and then forgiving them before they are paid. maybe we should stop being the first ones that nato sends into volatile situations. when we have a national disaster (except 9/11) when has any other country sent aid? when has any other country forgiven our debt? when our people get sent into other countries by nato, the rest of the world condems america for being there. should we stop helping and caring? NO! we help and care in spite of other countries hate. that is definitely the Christian way.Why should America bother changing its ways?“A country, which possesses the biggest nuclear arsenal, (USA)embarks on proliferation of nuclear weapons in defiance of the safeguards (of NPT) and threatens to use them against others, is not competent to comment on peaceful use of nuclear know-how by other states,”

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad quoteWhy should America bother changing its ways?Yes Bush has hurt America's image a lot

Hopefully people are smart

and realize the equation

Bush=America

is not always trueWhy should America bother changing its ways?Getting rid of Sadam, is probably the one thing that GW Bush will be remembered for. The reasoning behind it was, as later found out, flawed. The intelligence services in the US and around the world, let us all down. As a UK citizen, I think our government were as much to blame. Yes, Sadam needed to go but what is now happening in Iraq is far worse.

From my own perspective, America needs to do more to help with global warming. America moans about the price of petrol etc., but over here we pay nearly five times what you do for a gallon! Our standard of living is no better than yours, in fact, it can be a lot worse. I actually work for a worldwide charity and my pay is £5.60 per hour or about $11 and I only get paid for 35 hours no matter how many I actually work. (Not trying to get sympathy votes, I enjoy what I do and a lot of our aid actually goes to help out when America has disasters, such as in New Orleans.)

The credit crunch, as it is called over here, is the next real problem that America is guilty of starting. Lending money to people who obviously can't pay it back and then taking their homes away, with no chance of ever being able to sell them again. The knock on affect of this is global. House prices are slipping in the UK day on day and soon, we will have more re-posed houses that we know what to do with. Why aren't the fat cat American firms who started this, brought to account? Easy to answer, the people who came up with these NINJA, (No income, no jobs, no assets), mortgages, just saw the profit they could make and that was it. The UK is as guilty.

Personally, I think America needs to change the length of time that its president can stay in power. Two terms in office and then go, doesn't work. It always means that in the second term, the president feels obliged to do something that he, (at the moment), will be remembered for. At least over here we can get rid of them when ever the cabinet wants to. Not that Gordon Brown is any good. But that's another story.........!

Sorry for the long answer!Why should America bother changing its ways?I believe Curtis is living in an age gone by!Why?No country;Even the USA can embark on military adventures on it's own now!It needs collective action to solve the worlds problems militarily!America being 'top dog' attitude is 20years out of date!We all need each other to survive!!
