How did the holocaust change america today?

I need to know how it changed america today, it is for my AMEX final at school, I need an answer that is rich in detail. How did the holocaust change america today?I would say in regards to America, the holocaust resolved a lot of American Jews to support the creation of the state of Israel in the middle east; a lot of financial funding came from them. Golda Meir, who immigrated to America from Kiev with her family as a child did a lot to raise funds for the State of Israel. She later became Prime Minister of Israel. How did the holocaust change america today? Many German Jews and other so-called degenerates fled Europe in the thirties. The Nazi's shut down the Bauhaus in Dessau as the designs they produced were un-Aryan. Among these were Mies Van De Rohe, Walter Gropius and Lazlo Moholy-Nagy - Mie's became an extremely influential architect in the US.

Another who was driven to the west was Albert Einstein whose theory of relativity paved the way for the Manhattan Project which ended the war and ushered in the Nuclear Age that left the US as a superpower.

The fact that the US was the first country to recognise the State of Israel is an indication of the links that were forged between the two countries. How did the holocaust change america today?Everyone is changed by it. Here is a very personal story about it:
